BBC News - Why Did Britain Fall Out Of Love With Seasame Street
“The style of the programme is a tad out-dated - there are very few puppet shows around now.” - Nick Wilson, Five’s Director of Children’s Programming.
Any TV executive who thinks this is an idiot. It’s simple. It’s this same kind of thinking that pollutes our cinemas and television with mainly poorly made 3D animation.
Children love anything as long as it’s fun and entertaining! Doesn’t matter if it’s flashy or whatever. It’s always the story and the fun that make things entertaining to watch, not how it’s made. Jim Henson created a show that had the perfect combination of heart, creativity and education, why would you take that away from kids and replace it with Lazy Town?

This is what happens when you start scanning something, pick it up to fix it then let it continue scanning.
Weird and warped, eh?

An important day in history.
Doc Brown: Here’s a red-letter date in the history of science, November 5, 1955. Yes, of course, November 5, 1955.
Marty McFly: What, I don’t get what happened.
Doc: That was the day I invented time travel. I remember it vividly. I was standing on the edge of my toilet hanging a clock, the porces was wet, I slipped, hit my head on the edge of the sink. And when I came to I had a revelation, a picture, a picture in my head, a picture of this. This is what makes time travel possible. The flux capacitor.
Marty: The flux capacitor?
Doc: It’s taken me almost thirty years and my entire family fortune to realize the vision of that day, my god has it been that long.

Oh Chelsea Dagger, I love you Dave. p.s We’re drunk!

Such a lovely man!

In Iceland last week...

If I remember correctly, Craig was pulling one of the cages and having a bit of trouble with it. A customer made some comment about how he was having trouble with it, Craig made some comment about how he couldn’t be arsed or something, then the customer actually said, “Put a saddle on it”

OK, my memory of the incident is hazy, but someone actually said “Put a saddle on it”. I was on the till and nearly broke into a huge fit of laughter. I had a giant grin on my face for a while after that.

I can’t believe I forgot to post this sooner

“They’re not pets, Susan”
Slinkachu is an amazing artist who places miniature figures in different scenes around the city making them interact with their tiny environment creating humorous and interesting street art.
His website and blog are well worth a look, especially to see these pieces in context of the environment they’re put in. The figures sometimes become lost in their large engulfing environments.
This is what’s so interesting about his pieces. They’re meant to be found, but you have to look hard enough or you’ll miss them (or step on them).

Yesterday, with some free time to spare I decided to head down to the LRC and watch a movie.
I decided to watch David Lynch’s Eraserhead.
…
That’s about all I can say about Eraserhead.

During Our Wood/Metal Workshop
Tutor: You can also use the laive if need be. Well you can't use it right now cause the motor has burnt out. I don't know how that happened.
Me (To Chris): Someone was probably laiveing it on all the time.
Me: That is the funniest thing I'm ever going to say.
To add to my headphone woes the ear piece just fell off.
The little tiny screw that holds it in place is gone. Nixon better get back to me about sending these back.
They still make awesome watches though.

The Guys at Pixar sure know how to celebrate Halloween, as several of the staff recreate the Thriller video.

Walking With A Ghost - Tegan & Sara

Not as spooky and Halloweenie as you might hope, but it doesn’t matter cause it’s an awesome song.

So there’s me, about to drive off and I see what I thought was Vicki waving goodbye to me.
Turns out I was wrong and that wave was a beckoning signal because the back doors wouldn’t lock properly. We tried many times to fix it, even got Danny (champion of the world) round to see if he could help. Of course he couldn’t. So Vicki and I ended up staying in Iceland for an extra 3 hours, till a man came to fix it.
Eating chinese take-out in the break room at 10 o’clock is an awesome experience.
Then we had to change a flat tire that I somehow got.
What an eventful but awesome night. Now to relax and nom on some Minstrels.
Thursday is turning out to be my favourite day of the week now.
